About TLB

  • Philip Jessup proposed the idea of a transnational law course. His vision of the subject was broad, including public and private international law; state and non-state actors; business, administrative, and political affairs; as well as negotiation and litigation. Inspired by his idea, TLB is only constrained by its pursuit to address all law transcending national frontiers.

I think the laws will be changed by actual settlements. The treaty was a good idea, but the reality of how things go in space will very likely change how all nations want to treat those who live and work there.

Do I think the United States owns the moon? No. "The Man Who Sold the Moon" by Robert Heinlein and later novels immediately comes to mind anytime I think about people actually settling in space. We really don't know everything about it even now.
