Chris Cassidy grew up in south Tacoma, Washington, and worked in restaurants for seven years by the time he graduated from Western Washington University. At Western, Chris studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, presented a paper on minimum wage policies at the 2005 W.W.U. Political Science Conference, and won the Mischaikow Contest for the best paper produced within the College of Business and Economics in 2004 for his analysis of the economics driving Mexican immigrants to seek work in the United States.
Chris lived in Beijing during the summer of 2006 while studying Chinese law at China University of Political Science and the Law. He also interned at Beijing Lutong United Law Firm, before traveling to Hong Kong, southern Vietnam, and parts of Thailand. Subsequently, Chris returned to the States to resume his studies at Hastings College of the Law in San Fransisco, where he was Co-Founder and President of the Hastings Democrats. Chris' most rewarding experiences at Hastings included twice earning national recognition for the renowned Hastings Moot Court Team, and externing for the Honorable Judge Marilyn Hall Patel at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
When not engaged with politics and law, Chris loves running, hiking, and dining with his wife Mary Lord.
